Our primary tutors are all experienced and passionate classroom teachers. While students may be in a group of up to four, they will all be working on their own individual programme. This programme will be developed from the results of the free assessment, and in consultation with you as parent. Lessons are 80 minutes, and the work consists of a balance of tutor assistance, worksheets, and computer-based programs; New Zealand developed and research based. Most of the programmes will be either in the areas of English/Literacy, or Mathematics/Numeracy, though we are seeing a growth in students needing help with writing, from basic penmanship, through to more advanced grammar and story telling. While we measure our success on the results your child achieves at school, we are able to be more flexible as to what level we pitch the student's work. Often we see students show remarkable improvements once we fill in "gaps" in their learning, and they regain their confidence! We perform reassessments regularly to track student performance, and will share this information with you.

Some of the areas we can cover:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Comprehension
  • Spelling
  • Vocabulary

There will be a small amount of homework set, this is designed to consolidate, and provide the necessary repetition, to help retain learning.
